Rules and Guidelines
Please read all of the rules as well as the FAQ before applying to the game
General
- Please friend EVERY member of the game.
- No god-mode characters. Your character is not invincible, no matter who she/he is.
- Please make at least one post or have one major interaction session per month.
- The staff is there to handle crises and situations. Please contact them if there are problems and listen to them when they speak.
- Only characters published somewhere may be used. No OCs, no Gaia-characters, no MUD or MUSH characters, etc.
Roleplaying
- Every character, upon arrival into this pocket universe, is supplied with a home, job, internet connection, pc or laptop, and livejournal. All livejournals are connected together automatically, so it's easy for other characters to comment on your journal entries. Note that while NPCs may have journals, their journals are NOT connected to the others in character.
- When posting in your livejournal or in the IC community, please keep all posts public-viewable. Include a notation in the post or subject that it is only viewable by certain people if you wish to "lock" it.
- When posting:
- Include in the subject line a notation of whether the scene is completed or not.
- In-progress scenes should indicate whether they are open for other people to join in, and if so, who.
- The body of completed posts should include a list of the characters involved, any warnings, and a notation of the date on which the scene occurred and any other notes regarding how it falls into the timeline. All of this information should be placed at the beginning, and outside of any lj-cut.
- If the scene took place on a day before the day posted, make sure to change the date of the post to reflect this, so that it will appear on the correct day in the archives.
- Roleplay scenes should be prose-format, in third person past tense, and properly compiled and formatted for LJ. Non-formatted scenes makes for painful reading. The scenes should be placed behind an lj-cut.
- Exception: If you play on the community directly, you can choose to post a new root comment each time, rather than replying to the one above it. This will prevent threading of the comments, so you can just read down in order and follow the story. If you do a scene this way, you do NOT have to compile the comments!
- Please remain IC in your journal and in the IC community. OOC posts should go to the ooc community. OOC commentary should be clearly marked if it is in a journal or in the IC community. If you want to leave notes to yourself in your journal, such as a list of weapons the character owns, you may place it in the journal, however, but mark the list clearly as OOC information
- You may not play or kill another person's character. The Powers will stop your character from killng another, so please contact a mod if your character intends to kill another one, or if your character is about to die.
- Personal journals are intended to be actual livejournals for each character and also can be used for emails between characters, voicemails, notes and the like. The IC community is for roleplayed scenes. The OOC community will be used for any OOC comments, questions or announcements.
Application
- To apply, copy and fill out the application form, then email it to the maintainers.
- Your application will be posted in the application community, where it will be read over by the community and discussed by the mods (in screened comments, no player - including you - will ever see our discussion) on for 4 days.
- At the end of the consideration period, we will contact the applicant with the results, along with any constructive criticism of their application contents.
- Members of the game are encouraged to read all applications, to familiarize themselves with the characters coming into the game. A general announcement will be made for each character, letting the game as a whole know whether it was approved or not.
- Anyone may apply for more than one character. However, there is a waiting period of two weeks between any accepted application and the next application you may post.
