The Guide for New PlayersThis is a guide for brand new players. I strongly, STRONGLY advise you to read everything here, or at least familiarize yourself with its contents, before you begin to play the game. This information will be useful for fleshing out the world, so that you will understand what your character will need to know, what they will experience when they first arrive. I've spent quite a bit of time compiling and organizing this for you, so please take advantage of it. It's here to make it easier for you to join the game, so that you can hit the ground running. FAQ for New PlayersWe're all from different universes, how do we communicate?Through an esoteric technique, the Powers That Be (tm) have ensured that all of the beings brought to the Multiverse Haven can communicate with one another. Though you will all be speaking your own language from your universe of origin, you will be able to understand one another without effort, both in written and spoken language. What does this world really look like? The world is about 500 miles in circumference. i.e. if you travel 500 miles in one direction you will end up where you started. The city itself is about the size of a moderate American city, such as Chicago or Las Vegas. In the south end of the city is a huge park, with a lake on the southern side. The park is fully maintained by the city. If you travel north, east or west, you will pass through a suburban area, with a mix of houses and apartment buildings. Beyond that, the roads will peter out and you'll find yourself in a wilderness. Continue to travel and you will eventually encounter the city again from the other side. There are no other human habitations. Go here, for more information on the creatures in Haven and the environments available and go here for a map of the city. I want to learn magic/to use a weapon/some other skill that my character wouldn't be able to get in his/her world. Can I do that? This will depend on your characters existing abilities, and the nature of the skill. If there is uncertainty as to whether the skill can be learned by that character, the moderator will sit down with the player of the character who can teach the skill and the player of the character who wants to learn it, and a decision will be made on a case-by-case basis. As a rule of thumb, if there is no magic in your world, or there is magic but your character can't do it, you can't learn magic from other worlds. However, if you can do magic in your world, you can learn other forms of magic. There are some forms of magic, such as materia, that EVERYONE in a world can learn, and will improve with time. Anyone in the game can therefore use materia, though it will take a long time to get good enough for it to be practical. However, once they reach that point, that person will be able to learn other forms of magic. I can't play for a while, will I lose my character?

The following guides are for shops that we know are in Haven somewhere. There are a few shops that sell FFVII materials, and one that sells FFVI. If your character wants to go to these stores, look at these links to see what's available there, and how much they cost. Keep in mind that your character has expenses, and won't necessarily be able to afford everything there, especially at the beginning.
